A Book Your Kids Will Love To Read: Curse of the Bone Pirates

Curse of the Bone Pirates: Nui Island Eco-Logical Adventures is a book any kid, especially boys, between the ages of 9 and 12 will love. The Curse of the Bone Priates is about a teen boy who travels to Nui Island when he grandfather becomes ill. Once he arrives at Nui Island though, things are not how he thought they would be.
“The Ma’ema’e reef is dying, his grandfather s brilliant mind has been infected, and creepy Island legends are coming to life. Big B and his new friends, Sam and Nalu, rely on logic, intuition, courage, and strength to unravel Nui’s ancient mysteries. What they uncover will help them save the island, restore his grandfather’s soul, and break the curse of the Bone Pirates.”
If you have a teen son then I would highly recommend this book. You can purchase it directly from the Nui online store or from Amazon. If you do decide to purchase this book you will also be helping a charity. Nui donates “50% of its profits to partner charities that parallel Nui’s mission of empowering kids to improve physical, social, and environmental health”.
Thanks to Family Review Network for introducing me to this great book for kids.

Personalized M&Ms

Do you love M&M’s? I know I do. I was really excited when Mom Central invited me to participate in their blog tour for MyM&Ms.com, a site where you can order custom and personalized M&M’s. When placing your order you are able to specify one or two photos to put on the M&M’s as well as a customized greeting. You can also choose what colors of M&M’s you want.
I immediately picked the colors light pick and light blue since I was going to add photos of my children to the M&Ms. The next thing I did was upload the two pictures I wanted to use. I choose pictures that had a good face shot of my both my kids. Once the pictures have been uploaded to the MyM&M’s site you can move them around and zoom in and out to get the photo exactly like you want it to appear on the M&M’s. If you are adding two photos then you can either add one or two messages. I chose to just add one message - I Love You. The site will then show you a sample of what your M&M’s will look like. The last step is just to choose what type of packing you want. You can choose from just plastic blags to glass boxes, there are numerous options.
When I actually received the customized M&M’s I was suprised that I could really recongize my kids on the M&M’s. The rendition was great! I got 3 bags of the M&Ms and gave them as gifts to the kids’ grandparents and they were absolutely thrilled. The entire process of easy and the end product was just wonderful. The only problem was that I didn’t want to eat the M&M’s since they had pictures of my kids on them.

Using Windows Mobile

If you have a smartphone, such as the Samsung Omnia, then you mot likely have Windows Mobile installed on the phone. Windows Mobile makes it easy to stay up-to-date because it runs on the same platform as many personal computers and thus can be easily synced with your email, calendar, photos, to-do lists, and much much more. Plus you can even use Twitter from it.
While I have never used Windows Mobile myself, my uncle and husband both have and had nothing but great things to say about it. I am however looking for smart phone and the Samsung Omnia would be a great one to have. It retails for $199 and includes a professional auto-focus camera that features panorama capture, cropping capabilities and smile/face recognition.
Do you have a smart phone that uses Windows Mobile? If so, what do you think?
