Roboform Toolbar
Roboform is a topic that I have touched on before. It is a software that stores passwords and fills forms. It has been my secret weapon in entering giveaways for years! I don’t only use it for sweepstakes. One of the features that I didn’t speak of previously is the toolbar. Oh the beloved toolbar.
This is the left side of the toolbar. The first thing you see is the little Roboform icon, this is the menu for the toolbar. Next is the search box. The search function I use very frequently. You can use it instead of going to Google and searching. I just use the Roboform search. If you remember from my previous post on Roboform you will create Logins. In this search box you will see mom typed in. There is a reason for this. I wanted to sign into Mom Giveaways and write this post. When I typed in mom a drop down of Login options appeared. I could Log into Mom Giveaway-interns, Mom Masterminds, Mom’s Talk Network Affiliates, Mom’s affiliate expo and the list goes on. I was able to choose the correct log-in. It took me to the website and signed me in. I didn’t even have to press enter! Oh, how I love Roboform!
The next thing your see on the toolbar is Logins. This will show all of my Logins that I have. I have hundreds of them. From this menu I can edit the logins, create a new one or print them off. The last thing on the toolbar in this screen shot is Momgiveaways. This is my user name for my Mom Giveaways login. If you notice next to it there is (+1), this means there is more than one login for this website. That is because I have an affiliate login here. For Google I have six logins. I have three of my own emails, a login for my husband and two oldest children.
This screen shot is the right half of the toolbar. All the people you see represent an Identity. An Identity is all of the personal information for a person. I have whited out the names of my family but you will see my name and Sweepstakes. If you click on my name it will fill in a form with information in my Identity. I have an Identity called Sweepstakes because I use this information for forms I fill-in to enter a sweepstakes.
Next you will see Save. When you enter a username and password and you want to save it as a login, you would click on the save button and choose a name for the login. Honestly I have never used this because Roboform recognizes when you don’t have a username and password set up for a certain website. When this happens a pop-up will appear asking you if you want to create a login.
Generate is the next function on the toolbar. Click this handy button and it will generate a very safe random password for you. You can drag drop it into a form or copy and paste it. The last function on the toolbar is the little highlighter pen. When you type a word into the search box and click the little yellow highlighter it will then highlight that word in yellow, throughout the whole page. Then next to the highlighter you will see a number in parentheses. This indicates how many times the word appears on the page.
You can customize the toolbar anyway you like. I have left it the way it came. This is an electronic tool that I could not live without! Roboform has a free version and a paid version Roboform Pro. I have purchased the paid version and couldn’t live without it!
