Sweepstake Tracker Review: Part 1
Sweepstakes Tracker is a software program that assists in entering giveaways. I started using the tracker last September. There was a sale after the 2008 National Sweepstakes Convention, so I decided to try it out. I got the first thirty days free. I downloaded the software and waited for my license to come (they email it to you). In less than 24 hours I received my license and was ready to go.
What is the Sweepstakes Tracker?
As I stated, the tracker is a way to manage the giveaways you enter, online and offline. It is software that you open up just like Microsoft Word. When you open it, the tracker will be void of information. Your job is to input sweepstakes and your information.
Here is a quick overview and then I will delve a little deeper and share my experience with you!
Benefits:
- Will keep track of your information similar to Roboform. Entrants is where you enter personal information about all those you will enter into sweepstakes.
- You can enter all your online sweepstakes into the Sweepstakes section and every time you open the tracker a pop-up will tell you what you need to be entering.
- You can enter mail-in sweepstakes and keep track of what you have entered all in one place.
- You can keep track of what you have won and even if you have sent a thank you card to them.
- Unrelated to sweepstakes you can create a to-do list in the Tasks section.
The first thing that you will want to do in the Sweepstakes Tracker is enter the information of everyone you will possibly enter in a sweepstakes. Go to Entrants on the right menu and customize the information just as you can with Roboform. I have user details for myself, my husband, my eight year old son and my six year old daughter. These are the people that I would enter into giveaways.
The next step is to start entering sweepstakes into the tracker. You will want to click on the sweepstakes tab and hit add. A new window will pop up. What you will see is in the screen shot below!

As you can see most of this is self-explanatory. On the left side you will see Sweepstakes Type. This includes different kinds of sweepstakes that you can enter. When you choose other types this screen will change just slightly. On the right side you will see Entrants and a box next to your name. If it is a kids giveaway I would put a checkmark next to my children’s names. I will explain why this is important in a minute.
Now you will see the Category box under the drawing date. This you will customize. You can include anything you like such as trips, cash, cars, electronics and miscellaneous. Directly underneath the Category box is the Source box. This is also customized. Here is an example of what I use SS vol. 10 i20 which means Sweepsheet volume 10, issue 20. This is a way you can keep track of where the best sweepstakes are listed! The last thing I will cover in the screen shot above is the comment section. Of course you can put whatever you choose in there. I include the full description of the prizes as well as how you will be notified if you have won.

After inputting all of your sweepstakes, the opening screen will look like the shot below. This is only a portion of the screen so I could show up close details. I am going to tell you how to enter a sweepstakes. When you see sweepstakes you know that you have some to enter. Once you have entered these they will disappear from this screen. In order to enter the Malt-O-Meal sweepstakes I highlight it and the entrant information will appear. If I clicked the box next to my husbands name and mine when I inputted the sweepstakes then both names would show up here. This entrant information shows I last entered on June 6th at 9:43pm and I have only entered twice. When I am ready to enter I will click where it says entry needed. Then a browser pops up within Sweepstakes Tracker. If I want to use my Roboform I would right-click and choose Roboform Toolbar.
This screen shot is of the Browser that comes up when I clicked Entry Needed. If you notice the form is blank. When the browser popped up my information was already there. I removed it this information for the shot.

Once I entered the sweepstakes I once again clicked on the Status Pending and it took me back to the screen below. Notice the Malt-O-Meal sweepstakes is gone. I will continue to repeat this until I don’t have anymore to enter. You can do this process with mail-in giveaways as well, but a browser will not pop up.
With the tracker you can also keep track of your wins by simply entering what you won, a short description, category (again customize it however you would like) and the value. This is very helpful for tax purposes! The last great benefit is the Tasks section. You can include your to-do list for the day. If you are using this daily you will include your task description, status , due date, priority and percentage completed. All of these fields are customizable. I have not used this section but I could see how it could be a great benefit for someone.
This is a basic overview of the Sweepstakes Tracker and it’s benefits. In part 2 I am going to let you know what I like and don’t like about the tracker. I will also share with you my experience with it and why I am not currently using it.
